News posted by j.gabbay, Apr 10, 2009 9:55 am

Paris, February 19th 2009 – Parrot announced today that its cutting-edge technology in automotive multimedia connectivity, in collaboration with Continental, is now available as factory-fitted equipment in the Renault vehicle range.

This new technology created by Parrot includes iPhone™, iPod™ & USB connectivity, smart track browsing. It comes after the existing Parrot Bluetooth® hands-free telephony technology adopted by Renault since 2003 (CMLTb).

With this new solution, Renault customers will be able to connect all their portable devices (iPhone™, iPod™, MP3 players, USB devices) directly to the car audio system and browse through their music playlists using the head unit man-machine interface and the vehicle display.

This solution is available on the European market for the vast majority of the Renault range, in vehicles such as the New Megane family, Clio III, New Twingo, New Laguna and Koleos.

"Automakers are looking for solutions that will allow broad in-car connectivity and convenience to vehicle owners. Parrot has the technology that enables these solutions and our chipsets and modules are being selected by more and more car equipment manufacturers for their OEM head unit business worldwide" said Eric Riyahi, OEM Executive Director at Parrot.
