Paris, October 21th 2008 – Parrot announced today that it will supply its cutting-edge technology in automotive multimedia connectivity to the Hyundai Kia Automotive Group, a major automotive manufacturer and a new client for Parrot.
This launch gives a new dimension to Parrot’s growth in the automotive industry as it now tackles the Korean and US car markets through the Hyundai Kia Automotive Group.
"Automakers are looking for solutions that will allow broad in-car connectivity and convenience to vehicle owners. Parrot has the technology that enables these solutions and our chipsets and modules are being selected by more and more car equipment manufacturers for their OEM head unit business worldwide" said Eric Riyahi, OEM Executive Director at Parrot.
The implemented solution, based on the Parrot CK5050+ module, brings to Hyundai and Kia vehicles state-of-the-art features such as hands-free telephony, music audio streaming and multi-lingual, speaker-independent voice recognition. This latest feature is a major innovation in the automotive world : customers will launch calls by calling out their contacts’ names, with no need to record voice tags or browse their phonebooks, thus enjoying a drastically increased driver comfort.
The first models to receive these features are Kia Borrego (a.k.a Mohave) and Kia Lotze, in Asian Markets.
