PSA vehicle ranges to integrate Parrot multimedia connectivity technology.

News posted by j.gabbay, Oct 13, 2008 11:24 am

Paris, September 29th 2008 – Parrot announced today that its cutting-edge technology in automotive multimedia connectivity will soon be factory-fitted in the vehicle ranges of PSA Peugeot-Citroën, via a major audio equipment manufacturer using Parrot expertise.

This new technology created by Parrot includes iPod™ & USB connectivity, smart track browsing and digital signal processing. It is an extension of the existing Parrot Bluetooth® hands-free telephony technology adopted by PSA Peugeot-Citroën since 2003.

With this new solution, PSA customers will be able to connect all their portable devices (iPod™, MP3 players, USB devices) directly to the car audio system and browse through their music playlists using the head unit man-machine interface and the vehicle display.

This solution will be shown and demoed during the Paris Motor Show in October 2008, on the Peugeot (Hall 01, booth 421), Citroën (Hall 01, booth 321), and Parrot (Hall 2/1, booth 105) booths.

"Automakers are looking for solutions that will allow broad in-car connectivity and convenience to vehicle owners. Parrot has the technology that enables these solutions and our chipsets and modules are being selected by more and more car equipment manufacturers for their OEM head unit business worldwide" said Eric Riyahi, OEM Executive Director at Parrot.
