Audio Expertise

Parrot holds significant years of experience in Digital Signal Processing.
Here are the technologies Parrot offers its customers.

Configuration
Depending on customer requirements, Parrot's audio solutions can deal with one single or two different microphones.
Both setups allow various advanced features explained below

Automatic
Echo Cancellation
In any handsfree conversation lays a risk of echo for the far-end, as the microphone picks up the loudspeaker sound. The Automatic Echo Cancellation (AEC) algorithm cancels this echo so that the far-end can enjoy a comfortable phone conversation without echo. Moreover, its full-duplex feature guarantees a natural double-talk. The Parrot AEC offers also the possibility to reduce the echo in case of non-linearity.

Noise
Reduction
The Noise reduction (NR) algorithm tones down the noise that is received on the microphone and keeps a natural voice. It significantly improves user convenience during phone calls.

Automatic
Level Control
The Automatic Level Control algorithm (ALC) adapts the signal level received from the phone to a certain level. It is useful to manage the different sound settings of different phones.

Simple
Tuning
Audio conditions may differ from car to car. However, Parrot algorithms are adaptative : they can be implemented in different vehicles via a simple tuning process.

Automatic
Microphone Selection
The Automatic Microphone Selection algorithm (AMS) is used in a two-microphone system : one microphone for the driver and another for the front-seat passenger. The AMS automatically selects the best microphone during the call.

Wide Band All the algorithms can run with signals at 8kHz for narrow-band communications or 16 kHz for wide band communications. The process at 16kHz is done smartly so that the CPU load stays low.
