Parrot’s FC6100 modules deliver the best features of today’s smartphones and integrate them into the vehicle. FC6100 enable connected Apps accessible into the dashboard, either partially run on the customer’s smartphone (FC6100 Entry - MirrorLink) or fully executed on the module (FC6100 High) as a true connected Infotainment Android open platform – designed to run Android Apps (up to 2.3) in an automotive environment.
Parrot has adapted the Android framework for automotive use cases. FC6100 embed the standard suite of Parrot automotive libraries for multimedia and connectivity (Bluetooth, USB, iPod / iPhone, WiFi, Voice Recognition and TTS for FC6100 Full).
Parrot has developed 2 solutions based on FC6100, the Ironbox and the NIS.
The Ironbox is an Electronic Control Unit conveying connected infotainment features to an existing head unit. It runs Apps from Parrot’s ASTEROID market. It can also play multimedia content, including video files. Besides, drivers with compatible smartphones can replicate their devices’ interfaces on the car’s display, thanks to Parrot’s Smart Link technology.
Drivers control the Ironbox through their cars’ steering wheel and radio interface. Its content is displayed on the car’s original display. It accesses the internet and plays multimedia content from local sources, besides the music Apps.

The FC6100 also powers the NIS. The NIS is a full-fledged 1-DIN head unit. On top of the Ironbox’s capabilities, it features a radio tuner and amplifier. Moreover, it can manage video feeds.
Drivers control the NIS through their cars’ steering wheel and center stack interface. The NIS itself may include a display, upon customer request. It accesses the Internet and can play multimedia content from local sources on top of music Apps.
